AGMSC 2024
05 – 08 August 2024
The Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course (AGMSC) was first held in 1938 at West Virginia University. In 1976, the AGMSC school moved to Coraopolis, PA (Pittsburgh, area) at the Robert Morris University. Held annually, the Appalachian Gas Measurement Short Course brings people in the industry, and in government, together to network and learn about the field of gas measurement, pressure regulation and odorization. The school seeks to promote increased accuracy of gas measurement and pressure regulation with the aim to further improve safety, efficiency and appropriate economics so the public will be better served.
ODIN participated in the 2024 AGMSC in several ways:
- We were a proud sponsor.
- We sent engineers to take advantage of some of the over 90 lecture classes offered.
- We participated on the General Committee and assisted by monitoring classes.
- We had a table in the Exhibits area (along with over 160 other vendors) to answer questions and set-up follow-up meetings.
There were 1,744 attendees, the largest ever in attendance. One reason for the large attendance may be due to the 24 workshops held along with the excellent selection of 90 lecture classes spanning the following sections:
- Fundamentals of Measurement and Regulation.
- Production and Storage.
- Basics of Measurement and Pressure Control.
- Gas Quality.
- Advanced Metering Low Volume.
- Communications and Scada.
- Advanced Metering High Volume.
- Odorization.
- Pressure Control.
- Current Industry Topics.
- Instrumentation and Automation.
- NGL’s—Wet Gas.
- General Topics.
The AGMSC’s annual event is an excellent industry jewel that more and more companies are taking advantage of. We were proud to be one of many sponsors!
