ODIN attends the LDC Gas Forums 2024
10 – 12 June 2024
ODIN was pleased to attend the Northeast LDC Gas Forum in Boston once again as we have traditionally done annually.
This is a marque energy event where natural gas market decision-makers meet to gain insight, analyze, and structure arrangements to buy, sell and transport natural gas as a key element of the energy transition. Over 400 energy industry professionals convened in June to gain insight and engage in analysis of up to the minute issues facing the Northeast regional natural gas market.
Chris Barros, President of ODIN, shared some thoughts on this year’s Forum:
“It was clear to see that our LDC market is finding it’s voice regarding climate change concerns. Natural Gas has been the most key medium to reduce carbon output over the past 30 years of my career and has allowed the United States energy independence. We must continue expanding natural gas use and educate society to its benefits for next 30 years.
More Natural Gas production is the only way to meet our future energy demand and reduce carbon emissions, especially with artificial intelligence computing needs. Continuing to convert electricity generation from greater to less carbon intensive methods like Natural Gas is how we make that transition. Natural Gas is also the fastest electricity generation method relative to every other electricity production medium to meet immediate power fluctuations.
Just as we have done with Natural Gas expansion, the expertise in our field is leading the effort to develop new technologies to balance our energy stack. We must educate the public that the pipelines, utilities, and support vendors are driving our new energy technology and the most achievable sustainable future.”
