ODIN at EAP 2024 Mid-Atlantic Gas Transmission and Distribution Seminar and Expo

ODIN was in attendance at the Energy Association of Pennsylvania’s (EAP) annual Mid-Atlantic Gas Transmission & Distribution Seminar and Expo for the first time. It was time well spent!

Held on May 30 – 31, 2024 in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania (across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg), there were over 220 attendees and over 50 exhibitors. Many regional utilities were in attendance, including National Fuel Gas Distribution, PECO, Peoples Gas, Philadelphia Gas Works, Pike County Light & Power, Borough of Chambersburg – Gas Dept., UGI Utilities, Inc., Valley Energy, Columbia Gas of PA and Baltimore Gas & Electric. The exhibit area was well-attended, in a large part because of the quality of vendors that support this annual event, including Mulcare, Performance Pipe and Heath Consultants, to name a few.

The speakers were ultimately the highlight of the event, with Opening Remarks made by Pam Jocsak, VP EHS & Technical Support at UGI Utilities. There were also professional presentations that included two on critical aspects of safety, another on the importance of employee onboarding, one on pipeline common failures and another on the production, application and opportunities presented by hydrogen.

An interesting aspect of this event were the number of Pennsylvania’s PUC (Public Utilities Commission) that were in attendance. President and CEO of ODIN, Chris Barros, was delighted that the PUC was in attendance. He feels that PUC will help the industry if there was more representation at other industry shows.

ODIN personnel made some new friends and strengthened existing relationships with both customers and vendors. This event will likely be an annual trip.
