1st Place – Engineering Design Competition 2023

Congratulations to ODIN’s Co-Ops!

We are very proud of our ODIN EPC, INC co-ops Matt Barros and Paul Henderson, who won their Engineering Design Competition at Western New England University placing 1st out of 35 teams!

These gentlemen designed an AEVA, Approaching Emergency Vehicle Alert system. This project involved mechanical, electrical, and controls engineering.

Two devices communicate between emergency vehicles, which transmit, and all other vehicles, which receive. The receiving signal devices have a visual locator, intended to be mounted on the dashboard, to allow non-emergency vehicles to identify the direction of oncoming emergency vehicles. This device helps if lights or sirens are not noticed.
