Eversource Woodland Regulator Station
Design and Rebuild of Regulator Station
Eversource sought a company that could design a rebuild of their existing Woodland regulator station in Westwood, MA. Enbridge delivers high pressure gas and Eversource receives, reduces pressure of, and delivers that gas to its distribution system. This design was desired to retire aging infrastructure, expand the facility, and provide additional functionality.
ODIN submitted the successful bid to provide engineering services for the rebuild. We supported design documentation from inception through IFC drawings. We also supported the permitting process and provided specialized construction inspection related to the facilities stormwater system. The station is in a residential neighborhood, so noise output from the station required unique handling. As well, it was key to minimize the profile and appearance of the facility which was accomplished by vegetative screening and decorative fencing.
The Woodland station design included a filter separator, custody transfer ultrasonic metering with 3rd low flow run, hydronic heating and boilers prior to pressure reduction, super monitor, monitor, worker, pressure reduction regulators, gas chromatograph measurement, odorization, instrumentation, and RTU control.
ODIN supported requests for information and as-builts through the completion of construction. This project is commissioned.
