Delmarva Power Peak Shaving Facility

Delmarva Power Gas and Light (DPL), an Exelon Company, desired to create a satellite LNG peak shaving facility in New Castle, Delaware to serve their service territory. ODIN was engaged to design a 49 CFR 193 compliant facility and provided permitting support services for the project.

The facility design included a molecular sieve gas pretreatment system, a closed loop nitrogen Chart C50N liquefaction system, a dual shell and tube vaporization system with gas fired process heaters, and five 100,000-gallon shop fabricated LNG storage tanks.  The facility design also included truck loading and offloading systems, a control building, MCC building, gas handling skids, fire protection and security systems, LNG containment design, and site grading and stormwater handling measures.

ODIN completed the preliminary engineering or 30% design, FEED or 60% design, and a full permitting package for DPL. Deliverables included design drawings, equipment data sheets, detailed specifications, and reports. This engagement was completed, and the engineering product was delivered.
