SOGO Annual Holiday Charity Event and Scholarship Award 2023

Each December SOGO sponsors a charity and holds an event for that charity.  This year SOGO sponsored the Elle Foundation with President & Chairman Laurie Richmond and Co-Vice President Dean Richmond presenting. The Elle Foundation is the only wish granting organization whose primary mission is to grant final wishes for children battling a recurrence of cancer. Their recurrence of cancer is often a secondary cancer caused by the chemo that was used as treatment for their first diagnosis. As medical options may be coming to an end, all a child and their family wants and needs, is a moment of joy in their lives. Each wish trip costs about $5,000.00 and SOGO raised over $15,000.00 at this event which will hopefully fund at least three wishes. The Elle Foundation does great work bringing joy to children and their families.

Congratulations to Matt Barros

We are thrilled to announce that Matt Barros, son of Chris Barros, PE, President, and CEO of ODIN EPC, has been awarded one of four 2023 SOGO Scholarship.  Matt was given the scholarship award at the December meeting, presented by SOGO President Brian McDonald. The scholarship is awarded to a child of a SOGO member who is in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th year of undergraduate study at a college or university and is following an accredited curriculum in the field of Engineering or Science.  Matt is currently an engineering designer at ODIN EPC and is also a Sophomore at Western New England University with a 4.0 GPA. Congratulations again Matt! We are proud of you.
